Here’s a little secret,
That not everyone knows
But something special happens
Wherever strawberries grow…
Whether on a farm,
or in your garden at home,
a hard working bunch will appear,
Called ‘The Strawberry Patch Gnomes’!

They’re magical mice,
With a special job you see:
They keep a close eye
growing each delicious berry,
Whilst dancing and singing,
And being ever so merry!

Big, juicy, and red —
perfectly ripe and delicious:
they’re ready eat,
or add to our dishes:
Like a summer fruits salad,
Or a strawberry tart,
Or anything yummy,
that calls to your heart!

The gnomes themselves,
They always keep a few,
To make the loveliest jam
That’s delicious through and through!
And would you believe
They came to me for a chat,
Wearing their little blue jumpers,
And their little red hats!

They softly squeaked:
“We know how lovely
all your customers are,
and that they all come
from near and afar.”
And then through gnome magic,
Appeared tiny jam jars!
“Please share these gifts
with all those lovely people!”
As they waved goodbye
with smiles sweet as treacle.

So I’ll keep my promise
to The Strawberry Patch Gnomes,
And send them alongside my orders
Until they’re all gone!
